Britney Marie Kirkland,  her parents and four siblings,  live on a small farm in Orange, Texas.   Britney is a Personal Ponies Louisiana and Texas Jr. Director!  Her wonderful kindness, generosity, courage, joy, enthusiasm and big smile are definitely a true example of what our program is all about.   Britney was born with serious heart complications on 1/23/2002.   Her heart had four holes with no arteries connected to the lungs and located on the opposite side of her chest from where it should be.    Britney has had three open heart surgeries at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.   The most recent surgery was just four weeks ago.   She is home now and recovering well.  Her parents, Danny and Marie, feel that Britney is a gifted child.   She touches the hearts of everyone she meets and certainly no one can forget those gorgeous blue eyes!   A few weeks prior to her last surgery Britney traveled to Sulphur to assist me with a Personal Ponies presentation at the Theraputic Riding Center!    Wearing her cowgirl hat and boots,  she was a show stopper!

Following the presentation, Britney shared the ponies with other differently able kids who were guests at the riding center that day!   Britney is very special to me and a tremendous inspiration!   Thank you Britney for adding so much joy to my life and to our program!    Many thanks to her parents,  Danny and Marie,  for your support as well!
