Dr. Kathy Franchek is a pediatrician at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.  She has a gorgeous daughter, Therese, and a handsome son, Benjamin.  Therese has Downs Syndrome.  Therese enjoys animals very much.  Because of Therese's disability,  mom Kathy was concerned that a dog or a cat may not be an appropriate pet.   We met Kathy and Therese at our Personal Ponies booth during the Houston Pin Oak Charity Horse Show.   Therese loved spending time with the ponies and wanted very much to take one home with her!!   The Franchek family lives in a suburb of Houston called Pearland,  which is not zoned for livestock, unfortunately.   Kathy is arranging pony visits for Therese with Houston Community Director Kim Buschlen!  Just recently the family rescued a sweet puppy from the Brazoria Humane Society!  Benjamin and Therese love the puppy very much.   The little Terrior mix puppy is  good therapy for young Therese who has learned to feed, brush and play with her!   Kathy promotes the program in her community and has been greatly instrumental in assisting me with arrangements for pony visits to Texas Children's Hospital!!  Thank you Dr. Kathy Franchek, Therese and Benjamin!   Welcome to our Personal Ponies family!
